June christy - something cool - Examining Dr. John Christy s Global Warming Skepticism

I'm not a bad guy, I went to surprise my gf, help her set up her show and to give her an engagement ring and ended up fighting for my life.

It seems like yesterday that I was writing the post for my Christmas tour. I find that a I get older, time flies by so fast. As a result, I find myself simplifying my holiday decor in order to spend more quality time with friends and family. I got started early this year. My goal this […]

I think one of the reasons we all love it so much is because it feels like a real home. It has that “collected” look as if it has evolved over the years, instead of being “decorated.” The slipcovers also give it that beachy, casual feel, yet the whole room has an air of elegance, too. You could see yourself collapsing on one of these sofas after a long day with a bowl of popcorn and a good book or movie.

Christy Ford Chapin: Yeah, and I'm sympathetic. I understand. I understand. But the problem is that we have to tie--the doctors need to be tied to the bottom line. There's a certain amount of resources, and we want the correct people deciding how those resources are used. Now, under these Pre-paid groups, it was perfect , because by tying them to the bottom line--the way they were usually paid was a set salary, and then a portion of the quarterly profit. So they wanted to be profitable. So it was not in their best interest to just kind of run up the bill and send it far, far away to an insurance company that, you know, they really had no other connection to and didn't care about. But, also, it was not in their best interest to withhold care, either. Who is going to--it doesn't take long for the word to get out that, 'Why am I bothering paying these people my monthly fee?' You can imagine the scenario today. You've heard these stories. 'I've been having these awful headaches for a year, and I can't get a CT scan (Computerized Tomography scan)--you know, say, you are under, maybe, an HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) like Kaiser, something that's a little bit more controlled. If you are wanting your prepaid group to be profitable, you also want to make patients happy. So, you are not going to withhold care. Which is a big problem in some systems, such as the British system, for example.

A year later, a caller to an open line radio show asked if she minded being called a "MILF" — a crude acronym meaning a mother who is sexually attractive.

Whatever happens in the days, weeks, and months to come, though, one of the most insidious threats embedded in Clark’s cynical Throne Speech is a deeply disturbing conception of politics. Premier Clark has, in effect, tried to reduce politics to mere management and power; by raiding the NDP and Green platforms with abandon, by taking policy ideas that happen to be popular now, and by arguing that she is just borrowing the best bits from each party, she has indicated that deep and persistent ideological differences, which are reflective of real differences that one should expect and even celebrate in a pluralist democracy, are trivial concerns when power is at stake. Clark has stitched together a Frankenstein’s monster she claims she’s best suited to command. What could possibly go wrong? After all, everything turns out okay in  Frankenstein , right?

Shades of the forthcoming iPod format are heard in this June 4, 1970 pre-recorded hour of Dick Biondi on WCFL . Why anyone would go directly from music to spots back then is a mystery, but maybe not if you consider that the program was pre-recorded, and the air version needed last-minute adjustments. We know for sure an entire 10-minute newscast is missing. This was not recorded off-the-air. Like so many airchecks of WCFL, Production Director Tom Konard of Aircheck Factory was the originator of this one.
